Faith and Fire
Scripture
Read slowly enough to be read
A simple practice of attention, context, and response.
Prepare
Choose a short passage and remove one distraction. Ask for honesty rather than novelty. Read what is present before searching for what you hope it will say.
Notice
Read twice. Mark repeated words, movement, command, promise, question, and audience. Consider the surrounding passage so one sentence is not forced to carry a meaning it does not have.
Respond
Name one truth to receive, one action to take, or one question to continue studying. Close by putting the response into plain prayer.
