Begin near

Notice the need already within reach: a ride, a meal, a repair, a letter, a listening hour, or a task someone cannot carry alone.

Ask before assuming

Service respects agency. Ask what would help, listen to the answer, and avoid turning another person’s need into a stage for the helper.

Serve beyond emotion

Compassion needs structure. Choose a frequency and limit you can keep. Quiet faithfulness over time often does more good than an intense promise that disappears.
