Tools We Use
A disciplined way to choose software
A practical checklist for choosing fewer tools for better reasons.
Start with the job
Describe the recurring problem in one sentence before comparing products. If the problem cannot be named, novelty may be doing the choosing.
Check the exit
Before adoption, learn how to export work, delete an account, change plans, and keep operating if the service ends. A tool is easier to trust when leaving is possible.
Review after thirty days
Ask whether the tool saved meaningful time, improved quality, protected privacy, and reduced friction. Remove it if the benefit exists mainly in the promise.
